To support the development and implementation of publicity plans for It Books.
- Excellent track record of effective coverage of authors and book projects in top-tier media outlets
- Seasoned professional with solid relationships in national broadcast, print and online media

- Coordinates all publicity activities on assigned titles from the mailing of galleys to the development of proper angles and pitches; schedules and plans bookstore appearances and special events; coordinates publicity updates for division and sales force.

- Schedules author travel.
Qualifications:

Advertising and Promotions Coordinator Children's Books |
Job Responsibilities:
The Marketing Operations and Promotions Coordinator works on all phases of promotion production for the HarperCollins Children’s Book Division including digital catalogs, online promotions and traditional promotional materials. Specific tasks are as follows but not limited to:
Promotional Materials/Production:
- Close interaction with Ad/Promo design team and members of the marketing department
- Traffic all proofs and work with design to ensure proper production standards are met
- Source, budget, and produce all promotional materials, including brochures, giveaways, posters, etc.
Digital Catalog
- Coordinate and create three seasonal digital catalogs
- Organize schedules and route to in house departments
- Work with various in-house departments to make sure information is correct and up to date
- Troubleshoot all art and copy issues
Online
- Liaison with online marketing and marketing for project approval (Author Trackers, consumer e-cards, etc.)
- Work with and meet weekly with online group to ensure all jobs meet their push dates marketing
Book Expo America
- Work with Manager to coordinate Children’s Division attendance at all BEA functions
- Coordinate shipping for all materials to show with warehouse (i.e. galleys, books for signings and giveaways)
- Update BEA itinerary
- Work with Manager to create staff booth schedule and BEA attendee packets
Qualifications
- Candidate must have 1-2 years work experience within the publishing industry, ad/promo or marketing experience preferred.
- Candidate should be extremely organized, detail oriented, and able to set priorities under pressure.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must be able to work independently and understand the importance of deadlines.
- Must possess the skill to set priorities and problem solve.
- Strong computer skills necessary with PC and MAC familiarity. Knowledge of HTML, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and general technical knowledge is highly preferred.
- Copy editing and writing skills a plus

Job Responsibilities:
- The candidate would have to be comfortable working independently on projects and being the liaison with other departments within the company and partners outside the company.
- Develop cohesive marketing plans for several key branded properties in the tween and picture book categories. Execute marketing initiatives working with advertising, promotion, sales, educational, publicity, editorial, and design. Manage marketing materials and support sales with appropriate materials.

- Write copy for all promotional materials and ads, provide art direction, traffic all projects through design, approvals, and production.
- Attend weekly status meetings for all marketing plans in stages of completion, editorial update meetings and team meetings.
- Oversee Marketing coordinator’s workload and provide direction.
- Attend meetings for or with the marketing director and provide follow up.
- Write key correspondence for or with marketing director.
- The candidate must feel comfortable with speaking to groups about the marketing plans that are under their responsibility.
Qualifications
3-4 years marketing experience. Children's Publishing background a plus. Knowledgeable about children's books, strong interest in learning and personable manner. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Marketing Director is responsible for leading the design and execution of marketing campaigns for selected fiction and non-fiction titles on the Harper list. This is an extremely hands on position and will require creative big picture thinking as well as detailed follow through. Specific duties for assigned titles include (but are not limited to):
Develop all marketing and sell-in materials for each title and address any sales requests in a timely and efficient manner
