Managing Editor
Job Responsibilities:
Managing Editorial for Ebooks, d-audio and physical audio
  • Manage Staff – 2 direct reports
  • Production:
    • Manage ebook production process from final book files to posting to retailers for over 2000 titles per year
    • Manage audio production - ensure titles are QC'd, MP3s are produced and delivered, label copy is checked and approved for over 180 titles per year
    • Manage production budget for ebooks
    • Run the bi-weekly digital production meeting
    • Ensure digital content simul pubs with physical on sale dates Point person for HC digital distribution clients for all metadata/production issues
  • Data Management/Systems Management:
    • Digital Content Title Management System (aka: the Access database) – Program reports and functionalities, provide tech support for entire department and ensure our data matches the data in mainframe systems (PIX, Vista, marketing link IDs, etc.)
  • Vendors/Retailers - manage and maintain relationships with outside vendors and retailers


Qualifications
5 years digital content operations or print book managing editorial experience. Specific project management experience a must. High degree of computer literacy and database literacy, independent problem solver, high attention to detail, proficient at multi-tasking.
